We had such a great time on vacation. 2 weeks on the Outer Banks of NC equals fun for this family. Lots of surfing, fishing, biking, and walking on our island...Ocracoke. A 2+ hour ferry must be taken to get there from the south. At the north part of the island, you take a 30 minute ferry over to Hatteras. We spent a day touring the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and museums, playing putt-putt, eating ice-cream, going to the local surf shop, and watching some professional surfers take advantage of a nice swell.
This is the start of the Buxton Cup. It is an annual putt-putt competition(played in Buxton, NC, thus the name) where one winner takes home the coveted Cup. We won't mention who has one two years in a row, although he behaves very graciously to his overly competitive wife.
